Police are searching for a suspect they say led officers on a chase Wednesday afternoon in Manhattan, injuring one of those officers in the process.
According to the NYPD, an officer was conducting a car stop near East 29th Street and Madison Avenue and the suspect took off, striking an officer and an outdoor dining structure.
After the suspect drove away, it was involved in what seems like a crash on Lexington Avenue, police say. The suspect then got away on foot.
The officer hit was taken to a hospital where they are in stable condition.
No arrests have been made and it is unclear why officers attempted to make the car stop.
