An NYPD officer is lucky to be alive after he was shot in the head while on duty in Brooklyn last night.
According to police, 29-year-old Kevin Brennan is expected to make a full recovery after a bullet was removed from his skull. He and two other plainclothes officers were responding to a report of shots fired when they encountered three men running from a building.
Commissioner Ray Kelly says the officers chased the suspects, but one of them turned and fired at Brennan. The suspected shooter, 21-year-old Luis Ortiz, was arrested about two hours later.
