An attempt for officers to stop a car turned violent after gunfire erupted, according to the NYPD.
Officers say they were attempting to stop a car full of people around 2 p.m. at Rockaway and Shore parkways. The suspects were wanted for a previous crime, police say.
During that car stop, the suspects attempted to flee and officers fired gunshots at the vehicle.
Two officers suffered minor injuries when the car sped off, they were treated at a hospital.
Authorities say the car fled eastbound on the Belt Parkway.
A 21-year-old man is in police custody, but the remaining suspects are still at large.
