Police are searching for the driver of a blue Mazda CX5 that struck two women in Bushwick, killing one of them.
According to the NYPD, the incident took place just after 5 p.m. at the corner of Elder Street and Knickerbocker Avenue. They say a 71-year-old woman was struck and died. A 44-year-old woman was also struck and is expected to be OK.
The operator of the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Elder Street and fled on foot, leaving the vehicle at the scene. The suspect is described as a man wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans with a ponytail.
