NYPD says police officers shot a man said to be driving a stolen van in Bushwick Wednesday night.

Investigators say the officers approached two men breaking into a vehicle near Georgia and Pitkin avenues.

They say one of the men then hopped into a stolen van and started driving toward the officers, who opened fire and struck the suspect in the leg.

Officers then followed the van to Jamaica and Pennsylvania avenues where it crashed into a marked police car.

Both suspects were taken into custody.
