Police launched an investigation into an overnight stabbing at Ms. K's Dance Academy in Crown Heights, where they say four men in their 30s were injured during a private party.
The NYPD says the stabbings happened just after midnight, and all four men were taken to local hospitals. They are expected to recover.
Studio owner Kyaisha Max-Macarthy, known as “Coach K,” arrived to find the studio trashed, with food and decorations scattered across the floor. Max-Macarthy said she rents the space to help cover costs but won't do so again after the violence.
She’s well-known in the community for her work with young people, coaching world champions in Double Dutch. Despite the incident, her priority remains getting the studio ready for upcoming classes.
“Service is something that is very, very important to me,” she said.
It was not immediately clear as of Sunday evening as to what led to the stabbings.
