The NYPD is investigating what appears to be two shootings just a few blocks from each other in Morris Heights on Monday night.
Police say both incidents happened just before 7 p.m. on Monday.
One 20-year-old man was shot in the arm on Davidson Avenue. Officers say the victim brought himself to the hospital. Police say they are not clear on what led to the shooting.
Just a few blocks from that incident, police say a separate shooting took place outside of an apartment building on the corner of East 175th Street. Several evidence markers were spotted along the sidewalk at the scene, but there is no indication of any injuries at this time.
Residents say they heard several gunshots Monday night, something they say has become too commonplace.
“Before, it was a wonderful area,” said Julianna, who lives nearby. “Now, it’s a little bad.”
The NYPD has not confirmed if the two incidents are connected.
