The NYPD says a man who fired a gun at officers Saturday night was shot and killed by return fire.
The incident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Hancock Street and Ralph Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant. According to witnesses, a man with a gun was involved in an argument and fired a shot. When police arrived, witnesses say the man pointed his gun at them and shot. At that point, sources say, police fired two rounds, one of which struck the man in the head and killed him.
Police say they have recovered the man's weapon.
