The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in an antisemitic assault in Central Park.

The police have released a video of the individual they believe is responsible.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 13, around 6:08 p.m.

A 70-year-old man was walking near 85 West Drive in Central Park when a person on a bike approached him from behind and started an argument.

During the dispute, the suspect punched the man and made an antisemitic comment.

The attacker then rode away on what appears to be a Citi Bike. Fortunately, the victim sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

The suspect is described as a slim man with medium skin tone. At the time of the incident, he was wearing an orange baseball hat, a white T-shirt, black pants, black sneakers and carrying a black cross-body bag.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is leading the investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). All calls are kept confidential.
