The three suspects arrested in connection with last week's police shooting in Crown Heights were arraigned on first-degree murder charges Monday. The charges were upgraded after Officer Russel Timoshenko died Saturday at Kings County Hospital. The 23-year-old police officer suffered two gunshots to his head. Timoshenko's partner, Herman Yan, was hit in the chest and arm but was saved by his bullet-resistant vest. Dexter Bostic, Robert Ellis and Lee Woods had faced charges of attempted murder before Timoshenko?s death. The suspects were stopped on suspicion of driving a stolen SUV. After the alleged shooting, Bostic and Ellis led local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on a multi-state manhunt before their arrest in Pennsylvania. If convicted, all three men could be sentenced to life in prison without parole. Officer Timoshenko's viewing will take place Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the I. J. Morris Funeral Home in Brooklyn. His funeral will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the same location.
