yesterdayA parent's worst nightmare became a reality Thursday night after police say a suspect tried to steal a car and nearly got away with a baby in the back seat in the Bronx.
Police say the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. near Mohegan Avenue when the parents were unloading groceries from the back of their parked car. The suspect hopped in the car in an attempt to steal it with the baby in the back seat.
According to the NYPD, the suspect drove off, but pulled over on the same block, got out, and then got away on foot.
No arrests have been made at this time. The whereabouts of the suspect is unclear.
