NYPD says they have arrested 52-year-old Jamar Banks in connection to a citywide subway assault pattern.

The first incident occurred Jan. 1 at the 14th Street and 7th Avenue station, they say.

Banks, of Brooklyn, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said he attacked two people in the subway last week, including a 47-year-old MTA employee on the northbound 5 train platform at the Pelham Parkway Station.

News 12 was told that the victim was stabbed in the armpit and back, then taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Banks arrest comes amid other crimes in New York City's subway system.

In an unrelated incident, police said a 30-year-old man was stabbed in the arm early Sunday morning at the East 138th Street subway station in Mott Haven.

That victim was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

In another separate incident this week in Brooklyn, police said a 71-year-old woman was assaulted at the Hoyt Street subway station by four women who attempted to steal her bag.

News 12 spoke with riders on Sunday, and they had mixed reactions about safety on the subway.

“It’s unpredictable,” said Jessica Angeles, of East Williamsburg. “I don’t think [the subway is] that safe, but I don’t really have another choice of transportation in New York. It’s the most efficient way to get around.”

"Be always on point,” said Terrance, of Hunts Point. “Makes you feel a little safer, more aware of what’s going on in your surroundings.”

As far as Sunday’s stabbing in Mott Haven and the separate attempted robbery in Brooklyn, police said no arrests have been made.
