The NYPD held its pre-Ramadan conference as the city's Muslims prepare to celebrate their holiest of holidays.
Officers explained security and safety to a roomful of Muslim community leaders Tuesday. According to Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, extra patrols will be on hand to enforce a safe and peaceful holiday.
Ramadan is a month-long holiday. Muslims fast sun-up to sun-down in observation of Ramadan.
