Commissioner Ray Kelly has announced that the NYPD will begin videotaping interrogations between cops and murder or sexual assault suspects.
Kelly said that videotaping would enhance public confidence in the criminal justice system by increasing transparency.
Expanding the taping program will cost $3 million and officials are working on acquiring the money to pay for it.
