An early morning shootout on the Major Deegan Expressway has left a 27-year-old woman fighting for her life and another man wounded by a stray bullet.

An early morning shootout on the Major Deegan Expressway has left a 27-year-old woman fighting for her life and another man wounded by a stray bullet.
Police say the incident happened around 5 a.m. when people inside a Range Rover and a Mercedes were shooting at each other - when a third car got caught in the crossfire.
Investigators say the woman in the Mercedes was shot in the back.
Police say the 35-year-old driver of the third car who was caught in the crossfire, was shot in the leg. The man is in stable condition, while the woman remains in critical condition.
