Dozens of girls are going GEEK.
The GenCyber Computer Science for Cyber Security, or GenCyber for short, is a free three-week summer program that teaches high school girls about computer science. This is the fourth year the program has been running at New York University.
Instructors say this is the most popular year yet, with over 200 applications for just a few dozen spots.
Anna Ganguly, a 15-year-old student from Kensington, wants to be a cybersecurity expert.
"It's been kind of hard just figuring out what commands to use and what to do in the right moment, but it's definitely been helpful because I have all my friends with me and the teachers are great," says Ganguly.
