Odd-even gas rationing has been extended in New York City through Friday.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the system will continue because about 30 percent of city gas stations are still closed going into one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.

The rule was first put into effect on Nov. 9 after Superstorm Sandy left much of the area's stations without fuel or power.
