Captain Frank Stonitsch saved a person's life while riding his bike with his daughter on Wednesday.
Capt. Stonitsch says he was riding a bike with his daughter to Pier 6, and when he arrived, he found a ferry floating by the dock. He says a crew member screamed that someone was underwater.
Capt. Stonitsch jumped in and found a person about 15 to 20 feet under the pier.
He says he's happy he got there just in time to help.
The patient was trasported to a hospital by members of Station 57 with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
