A police officer was injured after a vehicle struck him and fled the scene Saturday just after 8 p.m. at Broadway and Wallabout Street, according to the NYPD.

The officer who suffered minor injuries was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover.

Officers were still trying to locate the white Infinity that fled the scene as of Saturday night.

The circumstances that led up to the incident were not immediately clear.
