Officials say that Lt. Brian Murphy, who grew up in Brooklyn, is in critical condition. He's being hailed a hero for telling those trying to help him to go find the shooter. The 51-year-old officer is the brother of Terry Murphy, a former detective who retired from the intelligence unit of the NYPD just a month ago. Their dad still lives in Brooklyn.
