One person was killed in a large fire at a four-story brownstone home in Bedford-Stuyvesant Friday afternoon.
The fire broke out at 440 Jefferson Ave. in a second floor stairwell. It quickly spread to the upper floors.
The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Michael Floyd.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Fire crews say the blaze was brought under control just after 3 p.m.
