At least 18 people were displaced after an apartment fire in Bridgeport, fire officials say.
The fire happened at the rear of a two-story apartment complex on East Main Street.
The fire was knocked down but left significant damage.
Acting Bridgeport Fire Department Deputy Chief Jeff Cronin says a ruptured gas line was found at the scene, but it remains unclear if the line caused the fire or if the line was ruptured as a result of the fire.
Officials say no one was injured and that a barking dog alerted residents inside that the building was on fire.
Officials say the fire was heaviest in the back by the porches, and once they arrived on scene, they had to request a second alarm.
