Officials: 39-year-old man killed in crash on LIE in North Hills

All westbound lanes were closed between exits 36 and 34 following the investigation but have since reopened.

Fire officials say one person has died following a crash on the Long Island Expressway in North Hills.
According to police, the incident happened near exit 36 around 2 a.m.
Police say two vehicles traveling westbound were involved in the accident.
A 39-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. 
All westbound lanes were closed between exits 36 and 34 following the investigation but have since reopened.
Fire officials say speed was a factor in the crash.
