At least four people were injured in a fire at a Flatbush apartment on Friday night.
Officials say the
fire began on the sixth floor of the Clarkstown Avenue building around 5:30 p.m. It left four people with minor injuries including one firefighter.
There are 16 apartments located on that floor. Some were heavily damaged by the flames.
The blaze has left multiple tenants uncertain as to when they can return to their homes.
“I'm upset. I have work. I pay rent. I shouldn't have to worry about where I have to sleep for the night because something like this happened,” said Shannda Maheia.
News 12 has reached out to the department of buildings to see if the building is habitable, and if residents will be let back inside. The Red Cross has also been assisting those in need of help.
