A child was reunited with his family and is stable condition after being found unattended in the Bronx Sunday afternoon, officials say.
Two women found the boy in the Wakefield section of the borough who officials say is 5 years old.
They saw him running across the street at the intersection of East 230th and Lowerre Place at around 12:20 p.m. when they tried to find his parents and called police.
The women say the boy was dirty and had no shoes or socks. They took him to their home while they waited for police.
Officials say no charges are being filed and no one is in custody, but a police investigation is ongoing. They say the Administration for Child Services is also investigating.
