Police are looking for a man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Officials say the incident happened between Berriman Street and Hedgeman Avenue on Dec. 19 around 5 p.m. They say a 23-year-old man was caught on surveillance footage entering a basement apartment with a 15-year-old girl.

Police say the two are acquaintances and that the man sexually assaulted the 15-year-old, punched her in the face and stole her phone and jewelry before fleeing.

Neighbors in the area say they are concerned about the alleged attack.

According to anti-sexual abuse organization reports, seven out of 10 rapes are committed by someone the victim knows.
