A man was killed, and two other people were injured during
a fire early Wednesday in Riverdale, officials say.
They say the fire broke out
around 2 a.m. on the second floor of an apartment building on Arlington Avenue.
Police say an 84-year-old man was
found unconscious and unresponsive in a bedroom.
Emergency Medical Service workers
pronounced the man dead when they arrived.
The FDNY says two other people were injured, but treated at
the scene, and are expected to be OK.
It took about 40 minutes for firefighters to get the fire
under control.
The NYPD tells News 12 they don’t suspect any criminality,
but officials are still investigating.
