An old warehouse in Dumbo will become a cluster of retail stores, restaurants and bars, according to the local business improvement district.
Some neighbors, however, oppose the plan to turn the historical coffee and tea depot into a commercial strip.
Opponents say they want something more useful -- like a grocery store.
The historical society may be on board with the redevelopment, however. It plans to operate an outpost at the site.
The construction is expected to end this summer.
