A new app is helping businesses in Bay Ridge recover after the pandemic by offering a platform for local merchants to post promotions, events, and deals, reaching a broader customer base.

The app, called “5th Avenue Bay Ridge” launched last week, allowing businesses to create profiles and upload their offers to attract more customers.

“We’re hoping that the businesses could use it in order to reach the broader community and other neighborhoods and even other boroughs because we want to increase foot traffic in this district,” said Elizabeth Lovejoy, executive director of the Bay Ridge Business Improvement District (BID).

Since its launch, the BID has been working to encourage businesses to sign up and use the platform as a way to stand out in a competitive market.

"Each merchant has their own account, and they can log in with their own portal," Lovejoy explained. "If they have any sales, promotions, or events, they can upload it."

The app, which is free to download, is available at the App Store and Google Play Store.
