More child sexual predators are off the streets thanks to the cyber unit of the Brooklyn District Attorney?s office.
The DA's office says the program, which Charles Hynes started last May, has resulted in 20 arrests. Investigators say they spend their days surfing the Web chatting with adults who prey on children and recording their conversations. The DA?s office moves in once the talk escalates to a meeting. Officials believe Brooklyn is a major area where children are being targeted online.
The DA?s office urges parents to keep track of their children?s Internet conversations, print out suspicious exchanges and turn in the information to the office.
