A Web site is helping Brooklyn residents easily identify convicted sex offenders living in their neighborhoods. Currently, the National Sex Offender Registry provides the names and addresses of convicted sex offenders. Family Watchdog, however, actually provides photos of the offenders. Many Coney Island residents say this will help them better identify an offender and keep their child safe. Family watchdog groups say there are about 289 sex offenders per million people in New York, that's one of the lowest rates in the country.
