Verplanck celebrated 100 years with the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society Italian Festival.
People arrived for a night of fun, with empty bellies and a hearty appetite. Believe it or not, the Italian festival has been around for the past 100 years.
It's the longest running Italian feast in the Hudson Valley.
"Tomorrow night we have a fireman's parade at 5 p.m., then after that we have a small firework show at 9:30 p.m.," said Anthony Capicotti, feast chairman of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society.
There's rides and games, live music and a surplus of traditional Italian foods to choose from, including cannolis and sausage and peppers. In fact, the festival is well-known for its sausage and peppers.
The celebrations have been going on since Sunday, but organizers say there's plenty more to come.
The feast ends July 17. The feast will start earlier on Sunday at 3 p.m. and end with a fireworks extravaganza.
