A massive career fair kicked off Thursday in Canarsie with more than 85 businesses ready to hire.
The career fair was set at the Hebrew Educational Society and 2,300 job hunters registered for the event, according to event organizers.
People were told to come interview-ready with resumes in hand as some companies were hiring on the spot. Jobseekers got to speak with all kinds of companies from American Airlines to locally based businesses such as Job Corps.
The job fair was hosted by the 69th Precinct Community Council and several leaders, including Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
Organizers say another career fair is being held Saturday, April 6 at P.S. 276 starting at 10 a.m.
