An overgrown tree is making it tough for pedestrians to see in Soundview.
Residents say the tree is blocking the pedestrian crossing signal at the intersection of Underhill and Story avenues, making the already busy intersection more dangerous.
As of Wednesday afternoon, there was an open complaint online about the tree on NYC311, the city’s non-emergency services report system.
News 12 contacted the New York City Parks Department, as well as the New York City Department of Transportation to find out if any work was being done to cut down the tree branches or improve visibility.
After calls, the latest status for the issue was updated to 12:58 p.m. on Wednesday, indicating NYC Parks may have revisited the intersection.
The current repair status is listed as “in progress.”
