Parents are demanding increased police presence near schools following a recent shooting outside P.S. 81 in Bed-Stuy.
Judith Daniels was shot three times, along with two other people. The 61-year-old Department of Education parent coordinator was escorting some parents after school when she got caught in the crossfire.
All three victims of the shooting were taken to Kings County Hospital for treatment. Daniels, who is currently in a wheelchair as a result of the incident, says she doesn't want this to happen to anyone else.
The New York City Board of Education Employees Union, Local 372, is asking for more officers to patrol near schools. They say they want parents, students and school employees to feel safe.
The accused shooter, 25-year-old Cush Wrightel, is facing felony charges for attempted murder and assault.
