Parents and students from P.S. 185 marched to a Brooklyn Verizon Wireless store on Thursday to demand the removal of a cell phone tower across the street from the school in Bay Ridge.
The parents claim that the towers, located on top of an apartment building across the street, are harmful to their children. The school?s playground is on top of the school and parents say it is even closer to the towers.Verizon Wireless said in a statement that three weeks ago they decided to move the towers back 100 feet and point them away from the school.
