Community leaders celebrated in Bushwick as the New York City Parks Department opened a new green space.
The new Beaver Noll Park opened Friday after renovations.
The renovations for the space, in addition to another location, totaled $6.5 million.
The Parks Department renovated the comfort station, redoing the building with the bathrooms and storage for parks staff to work from.
Beaver Noll Park also has new play equipment, which is handicap-accessible and a new seating area.
The makeover was funded by Mayor Bill de Blasio and Councilmember Antonio Reynoso.
Brooklyn Borough Parks Commissioner Martin Maher says it was important to complete this work for the community.

He says parks like these helps bring the community together by providing a place for people to enjoy.
