Some Park Slope residents and business owners are calling for more trash pickups to curb the problem of garbage piling up on 7th Avenue.
They blame increased development and foot traffic. Residents feel the two daily pickups are not enough to keep up with the overflowing trash. Homeowners and tenants say the filth has made their lives less than pleasant.
Community Board 6 says although it has received complaints over the years, they have been minimal. The City Council recently allotted $34,000 to provide for more trash pickups in the area.
