The partial collapse of a residential Clinton Hill building Wednesday led to an emergency demolition.Department of Buildings inspectors say they rushed to the site around 10 a.m. after neighbors reported that part of a wall at 311 Franklin Ave. was caving in. Inspectors determined the structure was too unsafe and firefighters rushed in to save two dogs.
Several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution while the three-story building was torn down. Officials say the owner was nowhere in sight.
According to neighbors, the building was in bad condition for years and the owner had been told to evacuate in the past.
