A 20-year-old from Passaic baked his way to a six-figure salary after he baked a cake for Grammy Award-winning singer Mary J. Blige.

Blige hired Justin Ellen to bake her birthday cake for her big 52nd birthday bash last month. The opportunity came after Ellen was chosen to be on Netflix’s competitive baking show "Is It Cake?"

Ellen talked to News 12 New Jersey about how he turned his gift of baking custom cakes into a career and making $100,000 a year before turning 20 years old.

Ellen also has advice for anyone wanting to expand their business the way he did. He says to push yourself on social media because you never know who's watching. He is also offering classes as part of his business.
