A young Brooklyn man who married his partner while in hospice has passed away.
Chris Robinson, 26, was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma last year. When News 12 first visited Robinson in January, doctors said he had just weeks left to live, but Robinson believed in miracles.
Robinson tied the knot with his partner Terry at MJHS Hospice. Their friend made a wedding video that shows the happy couple and their beloved 2-year-old son CJ.
The couple used all their strength to reach out to local elected officials, who helped bring Robinson's sister to Brooklyn all the way from her home in Guyana. The siblings reunited a few weeks ago after having not seen each other for about 20 years.
In a statement Saturday, MJHS Hospice wrote, "Chris died peacefully yesterday, holding the hand of his dear beloved wife, Terry. The incredible life journey of the 26-year-old captured the hearts, minds and love of people all over the world. Although Terry, her son CJ, and extended family are heartbroken, they feel strengthened by your love and support."
