It was at Our Savior New American School where the Drame twins played basketball several years ago – so it was fitting that the school in Centereach held a watch party to cheer on the Saint Peter's Peacocks on their history-making run.
Twins Hassan and Fousseyni Drame graduated from the school several years ago. Friends say the twins, originally from Mali, left their mark on the tiny Centereach school by being kind and forgiving but powerhouses on the court.
Hassan and Fousseyni – as well as Elmont's KC Nedefo and Brent Bland from Wheatley Heights – helped Saint Peter's advance to the Elite 8. It was the first time a No. 15 seed made it that far.
UNC beat the Peacocks 69-49 though and will now head to the Final Four.
