A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car in Bay Ridge.
It happened at the busy intersection of Fifth Avenue and 86th Street early Thursday. The victim was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, and is expected to be OK.
It's not the first time that a pedestrian has been hit in the area. News 12 was one block over on Fourth Avenue and 86th Street back in January where residents were complaining about the need for traffic agents in the neighborhood.
It's unclear whether the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident, but police are reminding everyone that it's important to follow all traffic rules when walking, especially in high-traffic areas.
