Residents in the Penn-Wortman Houses were without power for nine hours on Thursday - and some residents still don't have heat or water.

The tenants at 875 Pennsylvania Ave. say their power just went dark at around 8:30 a.m.

News 12 Brooklyn Reporter Julia Joseph's Thursday evening report on the Penn-Wortman Houses outages.

They say the heat instantly shut off as well, and the elevator stopped working.

Tenants had to use the stairs to get to their apartments in the 16-story building.

C &C Apartment Management, which runs the building with NYCHA, says that residents were notified prior to this “planned electrical upgrade."

Residents told News 12 that most of them found out on Friday for the first time through word of the mouth - or experiencing the outage themselves.
