Chicken company Perdue is getting into the snack game with the launch of its new Chix Mix.
The product is a new approach for the company to combat concerns some have raised about Perdue’s treatment of its chickens and antibiotics in their feed.
The company says that it does not use antibiotics in most of its chicken feeds “unlike our biggest competitor.”
Perdue says its Chix Mix snack for humans is inspired by the same vegetarian, antibiotic-free ingredients that the company’s chickens eat - including corn, edamame and puffed wheat.
The limited-edition snack will be available to order for free starting Nov. 17 on PerdueChixMix.com.
