A postal worker driving a mail truck has been hospitalized after striking what witnesses describe as a double-parked truck on Powell Street in Brownsville just after 2:30 p.m.
The crash partially closed the road, as the driver was removed from the car by EMS and fire crews, as mail trucks arrived to remove any packages inside the car.
A USPS official on scene told News 12 the driver was taken to Brookdale Medical Center, but was not able to share the condition of the driver.
Residents on the street say the street often has double-parked trucks due to the shipping yard, and say it was only a matter of time.
"It's a problem. They park however they want. They do what they want, and there is already so little parking," said one resident, who was unable to access their car as a result of the crash.
