Carreau Club, the nation's first Pétanque club, is expanding with an indoor location in Brooklyn.
Pétanque is a French bocce-like game that involves throwing a metal ball as close to a target as possible. It is usually played two-on-two or three-on-three.
“It's super simple, anybody can learn in about five minutes. It's really easy to learn and really fun to play,” said Aaron Weeks, the club’s co-owner.
Since it opened in 2020, Carreau Club only had four outdoor courts. Now, they’ve expanded and opened a new indoor space that features nine extra courts.
“It's a really wonderful space to throw a party, whether it's your birthday, corporate event, you want to take your colleagues out,” said co-owner Dana Bunker.
In addition to the courts, the location has a full bar and kitchen with a French-inspired menu.
Courts can be reserved for $50 for a group of 10 or walk-in for $25.
They also offer a membership to their league, which meets twice a week.
