Health officials are encouraging parents to consider giving their children ages 5 and younger the COVID-19 booster if the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gives the green light.
Dr. Hal Sitt, a pediatrician with NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County says that parents have been asking when they will be able to vaccinate their young kids.
"We've been seeing some of these numbers and wondering when will my 6-month-old, when will my 1-year-old, when will my 18-month-old be eligible?" Sitt says.
Booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine were given the OK by the Food and Drug Administration in May.
While children under 5 are still not eligible, the approval stamp from the FDA could be near.
