Additional green space is now available for people to use in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The Pier 5 uplands will consist of more walking and running paths, as well as more lawn space and seating areas for parkgoers to come out and enjoy the view.

Next summer, an additional 4.6 acres will be added to the park at Pier 3.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Association says the point of the expansion is to create more opportunity for activities for locals and visitors alike.
