Pinstripe legends return to Yankee Stadium for Old-Timers’ Day
The Yankees welcomed back a time-honored tradition on Saturday as Old Timers’ Day returned after a three-year pandemic pause.
Yankees legends were back at Yankee Stadium for the 74th edition of the celebration, including Mariano Rivera, Willie Randolph and Bernie Williams.
"Being a part of that legacy, being a part of history means a lot to me,” said Randolph. “And yeah every once in a while, you pinch yourself cause as kid from Brownsville, Brooklyn you never thought that in your wildest dreams you'd be doing what we're doing right now."
Saturday was the first year the Yankees were able to host Old Timers Day since 2019 because of COVID-19. Video tributes were played for each “Old Timer” instead of a traditional game.
"The beauty for me is just seeing my former teammates, telling old stories, embellishing on some of those stories and just having the fans see the rich history of the Yankees,” added Randolph.
